The major problem with Amazon’s associate program is tracking, followed by support. Amazon does not allow for the tracking of SUBID’s. SUBID’s can be thought of as tracking ID’s. To have effective affiliate campaigns you need to track everything. Ad, Time of Day, Day of Week, Link Source, Keywords, Network, etc… Amazon’s program does not allow you to track this. Without tracking this, doing any Pay Per Click advertising is only 1% as effective as it could be. I highly recommend this network if you can send them a lot of traffic that you don’t need to track, for example review sites. If you use PPC, this is not the network for you.

The Amazon Affiliate program is a well known Affiliate Program in the USA, but not so much in other countries, such as the United Kingdom. I would like to write this article to let people know about this Affiliate Program because it can be useful to both advertise other peoples products and earn commission off the item sales, or advertise your own items and sell them on Amazon and advertise for free to give Amazon a small commission.

Amazon can pay in a number of ways. They can send you a cheque (Check), which can be mailed to any major countries, such as the UK, and other European countries. You can also recieve gift vouchers to spend in store or direct deposit. The Direct Deposit can only be paid if you are in the US.

So what’s so good about Amazon Associates?
You have a huge selection of products to chose from. You can sell electronics if you run an electronics blog, World of Warcraft games, and Game cards if you run a World of Warcraft Blog/Site and loads more. It is easy to advertise products which relate to the site you are running, which increases your chances of having the advertisements clicked on and gives you potential buyers.

The payment system is very reliable too. It is especially good if you are a US citizen because you can have the money you have earnt transferred straight into your Bank account through direct deposit. The cheques are also sent out in a reliable manner, and should arrive in the UK within 5-7 working days. If you do not wish to recieve money you can also recieve the amazing gift vouchers and buy what you’ve always wanted on Amazon and have it delivered straight to your door.

The Amazon Associates program is easy to use as well. You can easily add the necessary code to your website which the potential buyers need to click.

There is also a variety of different linking tools. You can set up text adverts, scrolling adverts, animated banners, and loads more to encourage your users to click the adverts and make a purchase.

Most important of all, Amazon is a very trusted business. If you ask someone about Amazon, they will be sure to have atleast heard of or accessed the site, and they will most probably know someone who has purchased or sold an item on the site. This makes the users and customers want to use a trusted business and gives you more potential purchases.

So, what are the bad points about this Affiliate Program?
Payments are made every 3 months. (Quarterly). Most other affiliate programs and publisher sites will offer monthly payments. This can cause issues if you require the money for financial stability.

The Commission earned is not very high, so you may have to make a lot of sales to get any decent type of payment.
Some of their adverts are a little outdated, and may not blend in well with your modern website.

Conclusion
After writing this article we can see that there are a lot more advantages to using this affiliate program than there are disadvantages. I would recommend this affiliate program for an extra advert because Adsense only allows 3 adverts per page.
